Owelle B.M.C Obi is a seasoned financial consultant and retired Deputy Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria, bringing a wealth of experience to his professional endeavors. An esteemed alumnus of the University of Lagos, he earned his BSc Hons in Business Administration in 1979, followed by an MBA from the University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, in 1994. Recognizing his significant contributions, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from All Saints University of America.
Joining the Central Bank of Nigeria in August 1980, Owelle B.M.C Obi served in various key departments, including Personnel (now Human Resources), Currency Operations, Payroll System, Task Force, and Trade & Exchange Department. His extensive career spanned all four former regions of the country.
Throughout his professional journey, he held notable positions, such as Assistant Director at the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC), Head of Audit Liaison Office in Lagos, Head of CBN Zonal Office Audit in Kano, Branch Controller of CBN in Owerri, and ultimately as the Branch Controller in Port Harcourt – the second largest branch of CBN in both value and volume of transactions.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Owelle B.M.C is an avid tennis player and an esteemed member of renowned clubs in various locations, including Lagos Country Club, Kano Club, Owerri Sports Club, and Port Harcourt Club.
In his personal life, Owelle B.M.C Obi is a devoted Christian, a loving family man, and is happily married with children.
